Members of the public sought information of a proposed path across the Wellbank site and how it would connect into Bootle Village. The Chair explained the difficulties in determining a safe route further to the one across Wellbank site and that as yet no further route has been able to be confirmed.

1 member of public complained about the number of potholes and flooding at Annaside. Were advised to report of the Highways HiMs system.

135/25 Village Matters

135/25.1 Community Plan

The Clerk presented the modified questions. Councillors to check. To launch questionnaire at the Annual Parish Meeting with a deadline for completion end of July. Final questionnaire to be approved at April meeting.

135/25.2 Footpath Wellbank/S106 monies

Cllr Kenworthy reported that he has met with representatives of Wellbank to discuss the preferred route of a footpath across the site.

135/25.3 Hycemoor Field

Cllr Kenworthy to meet with Cumberland Highways to discuss drainage route. The overhanging tree has been removed by the contractor. Suggested that the willow be removed and replaced with trees, to discuss with Bootle in Bloom.

135/25.4 Environment Issues

Bootle in Bloom have requested the purchase of 2 barrels for planting at a cost of £237.60. This was agreed.

135/25.5 Car Park by Toilet block

No response from Cumberland to last email.

135/25.6 Councillor vacancies

To address at the Annual Parish Meeting.

5 pictures selected to go on map. School, shop, church, Fire Station, Chapel. Cllr Kenworthy to measure up wall and take picture for contractor.

Thermal bag and new battery received. Defib installed in thermal bag.

135/25.9 Annual Parish Meeting

21 May 2026 Captain Shaw’s School, commencing at 7pm

136/25 Reports from representatives on outside bodies and working groups

136/25.1 BDSSA

Cllr Kenworthy reported that he had been in contact with planning re the Environment Agencies concerns re the development. Amendments to the planning application will be required.

136/25 Correspondence

All correspondence has been previously circulated. The following had been received:

  • Email from residents concerned with road safety around Alexander House
  • Email from Head Teacher Captain Shaw’s School re reducing speed limit from 30 – 20mph near school. To forward to Cllr Pratt
  • Notification from Valda energy of standing charge increase
  • Notification from The Cumberland bank of changes to interest rates

136/25 Councillor Matters

  • Cllr Duck and Cllr Reed are organising a litter pick as part of the Great Cumbrian Litter pick event on 27/28 March 2026. To contact Cumberland for help with risk assessment, equipment and signage.
  • Cllr Duck reported that houses have begun to be demolished on Summerhill.
  • Cllr Kenworthy reported that dog fouling is an ongoing problem in Bootle Station and concern to farmers.

The next meeting to be held at the Chapel Meeting Room Bootle on Wednesday 15 April 2026 at 7.30pm. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE
