Clir Pratt gave the following report:
A595 works now complete, any snagging works to be completed daytime with traffic
lights. Holmrook section to be completed over 5 nights. Whicham valley to be
redone. Any faults to be reported.
Corney fell bridge to be replace July/August.
Anyone advertising on roadsides to be fined.
Disabled facilities grant for up to £7k improvements, not means tested.
GDF drop in sessions re areas of interest/events Webinar 17 Feb, Drigg drop in 13

Devolution — Mayoral opportunity to sit over both Councils, would bring approx. £50m
extra into area. Elections May 2026
Eskmeal concrete blocks — site contact passed on to Karl Melville Highways to liaise
in development of shore defence scheme.
Homegroup have relocated all but 4 properties on Summerhill. Surveys have shown
structural problems. Home owners to be contacted.
CliIr Pratt was asked to raise the issue that the lay bye exiting the village has been left
in a poor state by the road contractors.

129/24 Reports from representatives on outside bodies and working groups
129/24.1 BDSSA – Clir Kenworthy reported that the BNG assessment had
been undertaken. The Flood Risk Assessment has been completed and plans to be
updated in preparation of submitting full planning application.
Still awaiting feedback from speed monitoring.
129/24.2 Flood Resiliencce Group
GDF have refused application for funding for flood modelling. Group to investigate
other funding sources.
130/24 Correspondence
All correspondence has been previously circulated. The following had been received:
e Donation request from Great North Air Ambulance – to be placed on March
agenda
131/24 Councillor Matters
e ClIr Falkner reported that the dog waste bin was missing from Bootle Station. To
report
e Clir Duck reported that the drainage grids from Kings Head down Main Street were
overgrown, to be raised with Cumberland Council
e ClIr Duck reported that she had received complaints from residents that the lay bye
where the school bus parks is frequently used to park vehicles causing an
obstruction.
e Clir Duck reported that she had received complaints that the 30mph speed limit on
Chapel Lane is regularly broken and could speed checks be undertaken. Clerk to
contact police
e Clir Duck reported that the Parish noticeboard at the school had a door missing. Clir
Faulkner to investigate ad arrange repair
e ClIr Duck had undertaken a litter pick and noted that there was fly tipping on the
outside of the village and problem of litter on A595. She asked if anti-litter signage
could be placed in the lay byes. CliIr Pratt to enquire at Cumberland
e Clir Woodcock reported that she had put up a message on Facebook re the blocked
toilets.
e Clir Woodcock questioned whether there was any power to the defib at Monk Moors.
Clir Faulkner to investigate
e Clir Woodcock raised the issue of lack of mobile coverage during power outages
especially at Monk Moors.
