Anna Anderson expressed an interest in being co-opted onto the council. Proposed by Cllr Faulkner, Seconded by Cllr Crozier. Ms Anderson signed the acceptance of office and was welcomed to the council by the Chair.

Proposed Cllr Duck, Seconded Cllr Faulkner Clerk to purchase a replacement bench and arrange delivery to school.

34/24`VILLAGE MATTERS

34/24.1 Community Plan
Cllrs Crozier and Anderson to review the existing plan and begin preparations for a new plan for 2025

34/24.2 Hycemoor – request to purchase land
Clerk had received correspondence to confirm land for sale. Need to ensure any contract includes access to drain. Cllr Faulkner to investigate cost to install drainage to field.

34/24.3 Bootle in Bloom
Cllr Faulkner reported that he had received the new signs. Cllr Crozier to help him fit them.

34/24.4 Footpath Wellbank
Cllr Kenworthy reported that he had attended a meeting with the Wellbank representative and their Environmental Consultant had walked the route of the proposed footpath using “Miles without stiles” criteria for a sealed footpath. A report to be submitted to LDNP and Cumberland when received.
Suggested that lighting could be by solar lights and path could also form part of proposed Esk to Duddon cycle path

34/24.5 Environmental Issues
Cllr Kenworthy reported that the bracken on the Community Woodland needs cutting back a quotation of £216 has been received to undertake the works. Approved.

34/24.8 Actions from ANNUAL Parish Meeting 22 May 2024
Road signage Cllr Anderson to suggest locations for road signs to be placed on Main Street, Mill Street, Church Lane and Chapel Lane.
Bench Replacement – new benches have now been installed
Bootle Village hall have requested help in purchasing 4 new benches for the proposed new play area. Resolved to pay for the benches.
Defib Training – Cllr Duck to contact 1st responders to see if they would some form of training at the Black Combe Country Fair.
Newsletter – This to be included in new Community Plan qurstionnaire

35/24 Reports from representatives on outside bodies and working groups

35/24.1 BDSSA – Cllr Kenworthy reported that boreholes and trial pits for the new building had been successfully undertaken. Some organic matter had been found and 3 gas monitoring points have been installed for periodic testing over the next couple of months to inform building design. Awaiting the completed Geotech report and flood risk assessment to finalise positions and heights.

36/24 Correspondence
All correspondence has been previously circulated. The following had been received:

  • None

37/24 Councillor Matters

  • Cllr Duck reported that there is a planned litter pick/weeding being undertaken on 7 July prior to the judging. She has received a request for the Council to provide the bin bags for this.
  • Cllr Duck had received a complaint about road mess and suggested that it be reported on the Highways HiMs system.
