The minutes of the meetings were recorded as correct and signed by the Chair
Police Liaison Report
Previously circulated and it was noted that the police would have a “Meet the public”
session on the car park next to the toilets on 23 July 6pm — 7pm. To advertise on

Clerks Report
The Clerk reported that the replacement bench for the Community field had now
been delivered to the school for installation. The benches for the play area at Bootle
Station Village Hall had been ordered.

District Councillor’s Report
Clir Pratt reported that the roadworks were continuing to the north on the A595 the
one that may cause the most problems would be the Ponsby-Calder Bridge
commencing on 5 August till 6 September as there is no alternative diversion. There
is a meeting on 16 July to update on progress and also lessons learnt.
Next South Cumberland Community Meeting is 11 September at Egremont. The
November meeting will be within the Millom Without ward.
Until 23 August there is funding for health and wellbeing of older people available if
any group wishes to apply.
Cumberland are launching a “licence to grow” imitative on any piece of land owned
by Cumberland that could be turned into an allotment or community allotment.
The bridge on Corney Fell has now been removed. The new bridge won’t be
installed until 2025, the road will remain closed until then.
Beach road — Clir Pratt is still pushing for a resolution to this problem.

50/24.1 Community Plan
Clir Kenworthy reported that correspondence re the potential of a transfer of the car
park to the Parish Council had been received and investigations are onging with
Cumberland
50/24.2 Hycemoor – request to purchase land

50/24.3 Bootle in Bloom
The new signs were fitted prior to the judging day. Clir Duck reported that 16
volunteers showed up to do a final tidy up and litter pick prior to the judging day, a
large number of bin bags of rubbish were removed.
50/24.4 Footpath Wellbank
Clir Kenworthy reported that he had now received a report re the 3 options available
for the installation of a footpath between Wellbank and Bootle Station. Clir
Kenworthy and Clir Pratt to arrange a meeting with LDNP and Cumberland Council to
discuss options and progress the plan.
50/24.5 Environmental Issues
Clir Kenworthy reported that the bracken on the Community Woodland that needs
cutting back was still outstanding by the contractor.
50/24.6 Actions from ANNUAL Parish Meeting 22 May 2024
a) Road signage Clir Anderson had investigated the use of road signage but this
would be confusing. To investigate the cost of a large permanent street map for
use by delivery drivers etc.
It was noted that the sign to Whitehaven was pointing the wrong way — Clir Pratt
to action.
b) Defib training — Clir Duck reported that she had spoken to the First Responders
who are to do some training at the upcoming Black Combe Fair. To be
advertised on Bootle Cumbria Crack.
50/24.7 United Utilities

Concerns were expressed about the number of water interruptions that had been
encountered in the last month. Letter to be sent
Clerk also to write to United Utilities re the sewer feeding from the toilets blocking.
51/24.1 BDSSA – Clir Kenworthy reported that boreholes and trial pits for the
new building had been successfully undertaken. Gas monitoring being undertaken to
finalise the precise foundation design.
All correspondence has been previously circulated. The following had been received:
*An email had been received from a resident asking for the removal of a bush on
Hycemoor field. Clerk to produce a letter to survey/consult what the residents would
like re this area.
