145/23 District Councillor’s Report
Cllr Pratt reported that the agreed road closure was for 10pm and works were expected to last approx. 5 weeks. There is a Teams meeting on 18 April to discuss all proposed road closures along the A595.
There is a meeting 17 April to discuss S106 monies with all stakeholders for the footpath from Bootle to Bootle Station. Planning for Wellbank has been passed.
Coastal Defence Team are considering putting in defence works at Stubb Place.
Abbeyfield – Housing needs survey doesn’t show need for residential care home. Building may be sold. School may be interested.
Public Protection Orders area – if there are hotspots to report online
South Cumberland have some grant funding for local projects.
Cllr Kenworthy asked if feedback could be supplied on the scope and purpose of the recent drainage works at Millholme.

148/23.1 Community Plan
Cllr Kenworthy asked Cllr Pratt to pursue asset transfer of car park to Parish Council.
Cllr Duck reported that 3 benches, 1 at Millstones, 1 by palm trees and 1 at Hycemoor in poor condition and require replacing. Clerk to obtain quote for replacement benches.
Quotation received from contractor to remove old benches and replace plinth for £300. Contractor had also requested permission for a plaque to be placed on one of the benches.

Cllr Crozier reported that speeding occurs through Hycemoor at the times when workers are going to/from Eskmeals. Clerk to speak to police.

Cllrs Read and Woodcock are struggling to arrange a date with Clerk. Appraisal form sent to Clerk who will then complete and arrange to meet with Cllr Read to complete the review.

149/23.1 BDSSA – Cllr Kenworthy reported that Reboot has been disbanded which has created problems for the project. Flood report and civils input now to be undertaken by consultant in preparation for submission of planning application.
149/23.2 South Copeland Partnership
Cllr Faulkner reported that a Steering Group is being set up re Active Travel meeting on 19 April 2024 9.30am at Millom Hub. Chaired by Trudy Harrison MP to look at a route from Esk to the Duddon.
