B Cllr McGrath reported that the Local Government reorganisation was progressing. There would be only 12 councillors for the Copeland Borough area. CBC had set its final budget which is less than 2% increase on previous year. New recycling vehicles/system is soon to be introduced which does not require the pre-sorting of recyclable waste.

Cllr Kenworthy reported that there had been a Flood Resilience meeting with local residents. A working group meeting is to be called by WCRT and include the other public bodies e.g, Environment Agency, CCC etc to table the impact of the recent storms and the requirement for further gravel management of the river. It was noted that a proposal for a project to mitigate flooding was being worked up for further discussion at the February Parish Meeting to agree scope and potential funding routes.
Cllr Read reported that the developer of Wellbank had been invited to the meeting but there had been no response but the fence had been moved back off the tarmac and work was being undertaken for installation of the road drains.
Cllr Woodcock reported that the school would take over the management of the book box and it would be refreshed on a Friday. The Clerk to email the school re monies collected.
CCTV has now been installed to reduce vandalism. The recent blockage was due to blue paper hand towels and a nappy being flushed down the

toilets. The toilets are on maximum flush and the cleaner has been asked to undertake a new regime. It was noted that the toilets have not always been locked up on an evening. A hand dryer is awaiting to be installed by an electrician and the builder is sourcing a new drain cover.
There has been a negative response from surrounding Parish Councils, but Millom Town Council are undertaking investigations into the cost benefits.

The group have taken over the maintaining of the railway station garden/plants An application has been made for the purchase of a water bowser for the watering of plants. Clerk to apply to South Copeland Partnership for funding.
Cllr Woodcock to speak with Brenda Hill and put out a request for more volunteers on Facebook in
Cllr Read reported that in principle there was no objections from the local farmers for a beacon on Black Combe. Plant a tree for the Jubilee Cllr Woodcock to seek ideas as to site and put a request out via social media pages.
A resident has enquired if there would be any street parties organised by the PC. The PC has allocated £1k total in funding for any parish organisation who wish to arrange an event to celebrate the Jubilee.
