DRAFT MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON 14TH MARCH 2022 IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM BOOTLE FIRE STATION, COMMENCING AT 7.30PM

139/21 Minutes of Meeting held on 14th February 2022

The minutes of the meeting held on the 14th February 2022 were approved and signed by the Chair.

It was proposed by the Chair and resolved that Agenda item 7 – Public Participation be brought forward

141/21 Public Participation

A representative from the Wellbank project gave an update on the plans for the site. Plans were shown of house designs and the layout of the site including pedestrian walkways through the site.

A S73 application has been submitted to modify parts of the original planning application.

Discussion took place on the possibility of hub building and holiday cottages aimed at users with disabilities to replace the original planned hotel. Plans for this change would be submitted in late Spring.

Cllr Kenworthy reported that some more planting had been undertaken along the River Annas. The draft application for funding to convert the allotment field into a woodland area was discussed and approved for submission to GDF Fund. Cost approx. £34k

146/21.5 Water Heater for Toilets

To approve the installation of a water heater in the toilets at a spend of £960 to facilitate cleaning

The Clerk reported that the tender had been sent to 5 contractors, 2 had responded. It was resolved to keep with the current contractor

147/21.1 Community Plan

Cllrs Faulkner and Kenworthy reported that they had met with Cumbria Highways to discuss the footpath, to the station. Design expected to change from 2019 due experience with the Viking way at Seascale.

Installation of water heater for cleaner approved. Bootle in Bloom had placed hanging baskets on the toilets

Cllr Woodcock reported that a call for volunteers had been placed on social media along with a request for a bug frame.

Cllr Woodcock reported that the WI were considering hosting an event at an approx. cost of £200. Vicar planning a picnic in rectory garden. Cllr Woodcock to liaise

A plan is being developed for the sports field and will be presented to a future Parish Council meeting

Cllr Woodcock reported that the gate to the churchyard had been damaged in the recent storms and the church were seeking financial help from the Parish Council to replace it. The Clerk informed the council that they had no legal power to assist the church in repairs and therefore could not donate monies to the church.
