Members of the public requested favourable consideration of an application to purchase a small piece of Parish Council–owned land at Hycemoor to provide off-street parking for their property.

31/22.1 Community Plan

None.

31/22.2 Toilets

Cleaner reported recurring blockages caused by excess toilet paper and that the padlock had been broken.

CCTV reviewed; incident reported to police.

A Facebook statement will be issued advising that toilets are closed due to vandalism and listing the accumulated costs of repeated Dynarod call-outs since October 2021.
A review will be undertaken on whether to keep the toilets open or permanently close them.

31/22.3 Monk Moor Telephone Box

Joiner to repair the door.

An AED has been donated to the Parish Council. Clerk to check suitability and cabinet requirements with Community Heartbeat.

31/22.4 Hycemoor Fencing

Clerk to pursue contractor.

31/22.5 Allotment Field

Cllr Kenworthy reported that support letters and additional information have been sent to funders as requested.

Clerk reported Common Land maps had been received; advised to apply to Land Registry for ownership details. Council approved.

31/22.6 Play Areas / Football Field

Email received from a resident regarding upkeep of the BMX track.
Clerk to respond that responsibility lies with BDSCC, and resident should liaise with them.

31/22.7 Hycemoor – Request to Purchase Land

Application received to purchase small parcel of land.
Resolved in principle, subject to legal checks and due diligence.

31/22.8 Co-option of Councillor

Deferred to July meeting.

31/22.9 Funding of Development/Tourism Officer

Council resolved not to support until further information becomes available.

31/22.10 Speeding

Letters received expressing concern about perceived speeding in the village.
Clerk to request a further speed survey from Cumbria Highways.

  • Cllr Woodcock raised concerns about proposed recycling changes and will attend the roadshow on 22 June at Tin Chapel, Millom.

The next meeting will be held on Monday 11 July 2022 at 7.30pm in the Community Room, Bootle Fire Station.
