2/21 Election of Chair

Nominations were taken for Chair.
Cllr Faulkner proposed by Cllr George Seconded by Cllr Read. There being no further nominations Cllr Faulkner was elected Chair and signed the acceptance of office.

There were no nominations for Vice Chair

5/21 Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 20 May 2019

The minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 20 May 2019 were approved and signed by the Chair.

6/21 Notification of Councillor vacancies

Resignations had been received and accepted by Cllr R Kenworthy and Cllr A Todd. The council now have 5 vacancies.
An application to join the council has been received from Ms J Forey, to be discussed at the June meeting

There being no other business the Annual General Meeting closed at 20.03

The normal Parish Council meeting was then held

12/21.1 1945 Landmine Explosion

Timings still to be confirmed for 15 August 2021. Poster will be printed and installed prior to the event. Trudy Harrison MP has agreed to attend and unveil. Invitation list to be agreed.

12/21.2 Dog Fouling

A resident has agreed to meet up with the dog warden on 19 May 2021 to identify the hot spots of dog fouling.

This statement had been reconciled by the Internal auditor as part of the annual audit

16/21.5 To receive and note the accounts for the year ending 31 March 2021 have been submitted and approved by the internal auditor and that they are a true and correct record

17/21`VILLAGE MATTERS

17/21.1 Community Plan

Cllr Read gave feedback from an event that she had attended with Trudy Harrison MP and other Parish Council representatives. Common plans were litter/dog fouling, bus routes, cycle/footpaths, green agenda.
Cllr Faulkner reported that the South Copeland Partnership were working on a cycleway/footpath scheme to connect communities and that Mrs Todd would continue this aspect of the work she had undertaken as Councillor.
Cllr Read raised the issue of beach erosion with Mrs Harrison

17/21.2 Complaint re possible breach of waste disposal

The Clerk reported that the Environment Agency had been in contact with the owner of the land and was satisfied with the responses.

17/21.3 Broadband

A leaflet drop had been undertaken but one response had been received

Cllr Faulkner reported that he had been in contact with Jenny Brumby re-funding from the Welcome Back fund additional litter bins, and replacement planters but the outcome was still pending

17/21.5 Community Forests

Cllr Faulkner was in contact with Cty Cllr Hitchen as to whether the fund would extend to the creation of a community orchard or a hedgerow on the allotment field.

17/21.6 Litter pick 21/22 May

Friends of the Lake District are organizing a litter pick throughout the Lake District NP.

All correspondence has been previously circulated. The following had been received:

20/21 Councillor Matters

  • Cllr Woodcock reported that there is still a problem with recycling not being collected at Monk Moors. She has been in contact with CBC. Cllr Faulkner to raise this at the 3 tier meeting

21/21 Next Meeting

The next meeting to be held at the Bootle Station Village Hall on Tuesday15 June 2021 at 7.30pm.
